Devil's Ice Box
The Devil's Ice Box is located within Pilot Knob Mountain. Its name refers to the cold air that rushes outward from it and rolls down the mountain into the valley.

Access to Pilot Knob Mountain is restricted. Not only is there danger associated with falling rocks if entering the caves, but the mountain also houses one of the largest populations of Indiana Bats in the country. U.S. Fish & Wildlife placed restrictions on hiking on the mountain for that reason.

However, on occasion special tours are arranged to tour the mountain, as well as see the Devil's Ice Box. To find out more about tour dates call 573-546-1111.
