We're excited to announce that significant initial funding for Phase II of Shepherd Mountain Bike Park has been obtained, allowing us to start construction in 2022!

The park is currently seeking additional funding to add to the amount already secured.  

​

Phase II brings us the features that will broaden the park's attraction, enabling riders of all skills and types to fully enjoy their mountain biking adventure in Arcadia Valley.

So, what are the things we are planning for Phase II?

​

• Riders have been very enthusiastic about the initial trails built at the park, but new riders have asked for some "less challenging" downhill trails, giving them a way to work themselves up to the more aggressive trails.  So, we plan to build some "beginner" downhill trails.  They'll offer great features like the ones that currently exist, but will be more amenable to those with less experience.

• A new jump line will be added.

• Miles of cross-country trails will be constructed on the backside of the mountain. 

• Flat trails interconnecting the three cities of Pilot Knob, Ironton and Arcadia, enabling riders to get anywhere in the valley by bike safely.

• A trail connecting the downhill trails to the cross-country trails.

• Additional blue and black trails.

• A Skills Park for younger riders to build their mountain biking skills.

• Better parking at the base of the mountain.

• Trail bridges and new, exciting, features!

The mountain biking scene is gaining great momentum in Southeast Missouri and Shepherd Mountain Bike Park is excited to "do its part" in making Missouri a great mountain biking destination!
