TRAILS

With 2 black, 2 blue and 1 green trail there are plenty of challenges for riders.

There is also a 2.3 mile Access Trail for reaching the top.

The mountain has a 600' vertical rise, so you'll be sure to have a fast and exciting ride to the base!

All of the trails are chocked full of natural features, rad jumps, crazy banks and tons of granite.

RIDE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS!

Phase I trails are not for the feint of heart.

It is highly recommended that riders thoroughly check out the difficulty of a trail before taking off full speed down the mountain.

We don't want anyone exceeding their skill levels on these trails and getting injured.

SO PLEASE DO NOT EXCEED YOUR CAPABILITIES.

Phase II will include the creation of several miles of cross-country trails.  These trails will appeal to more casual riders and families.  Phase II is currently in the planning phase.

TRANSPORTATION

As mentioned above, anyone can get to the top via the 2.3 mile Access Trail.  Vehicles need to be parked in Ironton, preferably at the Wheelhouse.

During specified days and times, a lift will be available to the top.  We will initially have limited lift capacity, until we figure out traffic flow and demand.  Being a new service, we'll experience the normal hick-ups and issues.  WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE.

For the price of a Lift Ticket, which everyone must purchase at the Wheelhouse, riders will be shuttled from there to the mountain.  Bikes will then be transferred to a Humvee/trailer rig for the ride to the top.

THE WHEELHOUSE

All riders purchase lift tickets at the Wheelhouse (corner of Russell St, Hwy 21).

Riders and their bikes will be taken to the base of the mountain (5 minute ride), where bikes will be transferred to our Humvee/trailer rig for the ride to the top.

Vehicles may be parked at the Wheelhouse.

For riders' convenience, the Wheelhouse will offer a bike wash, pay showers, restrooms and a small meeting area.

AMENITIES & ATTRACTIONS

In addition to great trails and services, the real beauty of Shepherd Mountain Bike Park is its proximity to everything bikers need.

Numerous hotels, bed & breakfasts, camping & RV sites, restaurants, unique shopping, grocery stores and more are within five minutes of the mountain.

There are also numerous outdoor attractions within 20 minutes of the mountain.  We have several great parks, rivers, golf, kayaking, hiking, historic sites and more.

Throughout the year Arcadia Valley hosts numerous events.  If you happen to be in the area on an Event Weekend, or you're down here riding the park, be sure to check it out!

Riders can do more than just ride while visiting the area, giving them a reason to make destination vacation plans to Arcadia Valley.
